What I've Been Up To This Year, And Where I'm Headed Next
Sep 30, 2025
TLDR recap:
- The Change Leader Insights podcast will wrap up in December 2025
- My focus for 2026: writing, teaching, speaking, and coaching
- This monthly newsletter will become a quarterly update
Now for the extended version of this message…
If you’ve been following along or working with me over the years, it’s likely no surprise that I’ve fully leaned into my portfolio career, splitting my time between teaching, coaching, consulting, and creating. This blend of roles ensures a diverse mix of work, while my focus on helping people and organizations successfully change remains the same.
Here’s what my year has looked like so far:
Change management consulting: I’ve consulted with two clients this year, working anywhere from five to 20 hours per week. Apogy's flexible service delivery model has been a win-win for both me and my clients, who get exactly what they need: high-caliber consulting without the exorbitant fees.
Leadership coaching: I’ve coached several amazing women this year, many of whom are navigating career inflection points, new leadership roles, or how to scale their impact without sacrificing their own well-being.
Teaching: I continue to serve as adjunct faculty at the University of Denver, where I teach a course titled "Leading Change for Transformation." Earlier this year, I taught a certificate course called "Strategic Organizational Change Management" for Front Range Community College. This class runs again next month, and it’s open to the community if you’d like to join me!
Podcasting: I continue to host the Change Leader Insights show, and was featured on podcasts including Reflect Forward, Move Fast. Break Shit. Burn Out., APMG International, The Turbo Branding Show, and Change Chat.
Writing: I wrote a case study for the book Managing and Leading People through Organizational Change. This edition, which was published in August, is written by Julie Hodges. Fun fact: Julie was a guest on the Change Leader Insights show in 2024!
Speaking: I’ve given several talks to corporate groups and trainees on the topic of change leadership. Later in the year, I’ll be facilitating a workshop on navigating change and uncertainty for the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians, helping leaders in the veterinary sciences learn how to lead themselves and others through continual change.
Yoga: I continue to teach yoga at my local studio. This practice and its philosophies are increasingly shaping my perspective on life, leadership, and even organizational change. So much so that it’s inspired me to finally write the book I’ve been dreaming about!
To make time for the book, I’ve decided to make some changes to my portfolio of work. The first change is that the Change Leader Insights show will be put on hold in 2026, so I can use that time to research and write. The second change is that I plan to focus more on teaching (courses/classes, workshops, yoga), speaking, and coaching. Consulting will still be a priority, but I'm looking forward to working more in alignment with my mission: to empower people to power change, whether it's in their personal lives or at work.
The final change will be the frequency of this newsletter. Instead of sending a monthly message and podcast wrap-up, I’ll update the community on what's new once per quarter, starting in the new year.
It's said that change is the only constant, and that’s certainly true for me and Apogy. Thank you in advance for your support as I shift gears and priorities in the coming year. That being said, if you'd like to work with me in any of the ways outlined above, please do not hesitate to reach out. If I'm not a fit, I would be happy to refer you to one of the amazing founders, consultants, or freelancers in my network.
Sincerely,
Jessica Crow
Founder, Apogy
